"Shape of Mum" movement workshop
This bespoke movement class is created for mothers, offering a playful and compassionate investigation into how motherhood impacts our bodies and movement. It invites you to explore and embrace the concept of the "Shape of Mum”. Our goal is to help you find space to release tension, boost energy, and connect with others in a supportive environment.
In this class you will see influences of yoga, Feldenkrais, Laban, contemporary dance, and actor movement techniques. No prior movement experience necessary - just come as you are!

The trio of workshops have been created to build and develop skills over time. However, each session can be enjoyed as a standalone drop-in class.

We will working our way through the body focusing each week on an area of interest.

Sunday 14th September - Workshop 1 - The Spine

Engaging the whole length our body to find more flow and connection in our everyday movement - great if feeling fixed / compressed / stuck in mum shapes.

Sunday 12th October - Workshop 2 - Legs and Pelvis

For grounding and finding strength and power - when feeling heavy and sluggish or flighty and untethered.

Sunday 16th November - Workshop 3 - Shoulders and Ribs

Opening the chest and releasing tension from neck and shoulders, and promoting easeful breathing - if breast feeding / lifting / holding a lot right now this will help.

There will be the opportunity for conversation and reflection over a herbal tea at the opening and closing of each session.
We will be holding these sessions in a childfree space to enable everyone to fully immerse themselves in the workshop.
